Update for Thursday, 17 March 2011

So how do you (when I say “you”, I mean myself, of course) resize virtual disk images when you start running out of space inside the virtual machine? You do it in easy four step process:

  1. Create new, larger virtual disk image
  2. Use VBoxManage clonehd with --existing option to transfer data from the small image to the bigger one
  3. Attach the new larger disk to virtual machine
  4. From the virtual machine, extend the partition with your favorite partitioning tool

Dipping toes in Flex / ActionScript 3 stuff. Did few simple tweaks to existing codebase, learned to use RSLs.
